Triad

We live our lives as three people. At all times we are child, parent and adult. Our 'child' reacts to everything based purely on emotion. Our 'parent' tells us a set of rules and prejudices that come from our actual parents or our culture. And our 'adult' is the one that reasons: deciding if the rules makes sense, if the emotional reaction fits the reality and from there, we make our choices.

Too much of any one and life goes out of balance.

We need our emotional reactions to keep us safe and to experience wonder.

We need some rules and prejudices so we do not become divorced from our culture and community.

We need our reason to make sure that we are growing and moving forward.

We need it all.
