2:45 AM and then what?
When things get...bad, uncomfortable, painful or any of those other words we use to describe being in that moment when you realize that something inside of you hurts and hurts badly, the urge is to make it feel better. And when we see other people who are hurting, we want to reach out and make it better. Whether or not we pay lip service to it being a part of growth, we all want the kiss on the boo-boo and the promise that everything is fine.
Things are rarely fine, but that does not mean they are not okay.
So much emphasis and energy is put into our abilities to "recover" from something that we have stopped to value the process of learning how not to repeat situations.
Know this to be true, and this I say from the depths of my heart and experience, all things change. They may not get "better" in the ways that we wish them to, but they will become different. And this "different" is always bearable and always leads to a new phase in life where we discover a new kind of better. We cannot define the future, but we can be present to accept it, live in it, and find happieness, joy and love there.
