The violin arrived yesterday...late....I spent all day acting like a 4 year old waiting for Santa. Every time I thought I heard the UPS truck all my cool points got dropped on the floor as I jumped up and ran flailing through the rain and mud to see if it was there.
Unfortunately, I live near a school and school buses sound like UPS trucks.
By the time it got here I was so tired.
And I unpacked it and had a moment of.....oh my god I am worse then I remembered, but then I got the bridge in the right place and the bow set up and started. It is amazing. I haven't touched a violin in over 8 years and I was by no means a master of it when I stopped - but it was there.
Now I have to get a tuner because I know I am way out of whack.
But best of all, the Mad Kitten didn't even have a hitch in her step when I hit the high string. Not like my poor dog who would growl and sulk whenever I got close to the case.
And I am steadily bringing home a bunch of projects that have been in the works for months (and some years) this week. The first episode of Sunday Radio airs this Sunday. Woman's Mojo Risings is off and running and I am putting the finishing touches on the first free creative workshop.
And then...in between squeaky notes, I can get back to the business of writing myself. There is the city and my growing pile of notes for shorter pieces, videos to be made and artists features to finish.
Life is returning to good. It still has its bumps, but...bumps sometimes merely lift you up high enough to see over the walls and remind you of what is outside of the maze you are trying to navigate.
