spider kitty

AuthorCassandra Tribe | CommentPost a Comment | Share ArticleShare Article | Email ArticleEmail Article | Print ArticlePrint Article | PermalinkPermalink

what an odd week

in the background of it all MK has been spidering around the walls. Which is good, she needed a new hobby. Once she discovered that the walls were fabric she literally...took off.

and it all just stirs around and stirs around

war brings peace

love allows you to hate

diet candy helps you lose weight

thinking makes things happen

surgery will make you young

to learn is to memorize

there are so many things that we have come to believe (often subtly) that are just wrapped in contradictions that cannot exist. No surgery makes you young, we age...we can dress it up and hide it but everyone can usually tell when you have had plastic surgery - it does not make you look young, it makes you look like you are afraid of getting older.

War does not bring peace. War brings more war because it creates enemies.

The pursuit of love does not allow you to reject some and permit hate. The pursuit of hate allows you to hate.

Diet Candy is an oxymoron.

Just thinking about things, no matter how positive, doesn't make them happen. Sure it can "draw" like things to you, but you still have to do something.

And learning...just because you can remember a detail doesn't mean you know how to apply it or can see how it relates to something else...

as the new year fast approaches, maybe instead of making resolutions, instead of piling on a list of new things, maybe we should take the year to look at what needs to be fixed in our lives. Most of us, actually, have everything we need to be happy - we just have no idea how to live it. Maybe, we should all make a list of the top ten contradictory statements we have allowed in our lives and work on that for a bit.

Like..."he treats me badly but he loves me."

or

"I believe in universal human rights but I only vote in major elections"

or

"I am desperately unhappy in my life but I am waiting for an opportunity to change."

or

"I hate my job but its the only one I can find."

or even,

"I can't find anyone who is right for me, but I sit at home alone and don't try."

but...because...when....those are the kinds of words you have to pay attention to. I am making my own list and it is not a comfortable thing because sometimes it is so subtle how we accept a kind of passivity into our lives that then becomes the dominating force. And it is hard to begin to take action, especially if it is so much more comfortable to remain where we have been.

You can't find something if you are not actively looking. Love does not hurt. Change does not occur unless you are present and working for it at all times. Unhappiness never transforms into contentment until you begin to stir.
