well...it would appear that the good news is that I have finally started to recover from my months long bout of losing weight and near starvation. While I have been aware that in the past month I have been able to start upgrading my diet (like above the 400 calorie a day with a weekly encounter with a meal, none of this by choice), the bad news is that when, in yesterday's excitement I locked myself out of the cave, I could no longer conveniently squeeze through the 8 inch gap in the window bars.

Mixed blessings.

Just kidding about that, I never want to wind up in that kind of place again. And I never will, because that place came about not just because of lack of money but because of a whole cycle of dis-empowerment. Which, I can't stand that word, it really has come to mean nothing.

But as I stood there in the cold, locked out, I was torn about what to do. Even my landlady does not have a key to the cave. None of my neighbors were home and I knew that I either needed a small child to drop through the bars or a wrench to remove the bolts from the bay door. So I stood there at the end of the driveway and just sort of idly watch what was going on around me. And that is when I saw the cop car and the two national grid trucks and figured 'what the hell' and went over. Sure enough, they had a wrench I could borrow and I was in.

The last class of the workshop was yesterday. The real-time version of the one I did on the radio with Nyla. The real-time version is 10 hours long (two hours a week) and it is always so, heartening to do the last class because people have changed so much over the weeks.

I will miss this class. I have a month off and then it (and two other courses) will be offered in the spring session.

And yesterday I had someone email me, just blown away about the wordsintofood thing, not the thing itself, but that we could list all those writer's and artist's sites and radio shows as coming together for one thing. I mean...we are all artists and we are all part of one community - we just like our separate rooms. But sometimes we forget that all of those rooms are in one large house.

It is nice to see everyone showing up in the back yard for the party.

Come one come all, http://wordsintofood.com
