push my buttons

to say that last week was seminal in my life is an understatement.

the most interesting thing about it all was the pattern of revealed coincidences and coincidental difficulties that arose.

loveandwords has gone...somewhere...along with all the emails associated with the account, courtesy it would appear of a hosting update. Loveandwords.mobi is unaffected.

I pulled my head out of the fog I have been in for a year and had my first settled day of work this weekend. Then Saturday, off to Buraco (elections again this past Sunday) and then back for a quiet evening of work only to have my entire computer system crash into the never land of the blue screen of death. When things go wrong they like company.

And everything I could find to help fix it, didn't help at all. Gone it seems, or rare, are people who know much about actual programming, its all about how to do things with GUIs or premade disks. I bought the computer second hand, I have no installation disks. Fortunately, I could still access Google on the crackberry and it took steady, stubborn, persistence (which could have easily turned out to be stupidity) to unravel and learn the nature of MAC command line prompts and root hijiinks. Half of what is posted online is either flat out wrong or missing things. Apple hasn't made things much easier with all the fiddling they have done between versions.

I rescued the computer and recovered everything on the hard-drive. I am still trying to unravel all my web accounts. Thank god I have a system for my passwords or I would be totally lost.

And last night, after a wonderful Halloween spent frightening children and passing out treats. I came back, worked a little bit more on the rebuild and then put it all aside and worked on the City of Love.

It bears little resemblance to what I posted a few months ago. The idea has matured and suddenly, I am writing. Really writing whereas it was such a struggle to work on that piece before. I tore apart pieces of the structure and reassembled them. The language is flowing and...if this makes sense, I have a firm understanding of what I am writing about.

It's gotten radically colder at night. The cave is doing well, almost ready for its next wave of insulating tricks. I am thinking of getting a goldfish or something to keep MK busy during the coming months. She is definately a housecat when it dips below 40.

But there is just something so good about it all.

My sense of company is expanding now and the company I am keeping is reflecting that.

Ack...ok, back to work.
